This scheme entitles qualified persons to a free annual dental examination, and from November 2017, to a contribution towards an annual scale and polish which brings the cost down to €15.
Please provide us with your P.P.S. number in advance of your appointment so that we can check with the Department of Social Welfare if you are qualified.
Medical Card Scheme
- If you are over 16 years of age and hold a full medical card you are entitled to a dental examination and two fillings once a year free of charge.
- If you are in pain you are covered for relief of pain.
- The GP only Medical Card does not cover dental treatment.
- Always bring your laminated Medical Card at each visit.
A number of dental treatments qualify for tax relief such as crowns, bridges, root treatments. Tax relief is not available for the cost of scaling, extraction and filling of teeth or the provision of dentures. Tax relief can be claimed by filling out a Med 2 form, which we will be happy to complete and sign on your behalf.
We participate in the VHI and DeCare Insurance Schemes and will help you with their claim forms. Please inform us if you have insurance cover.
